Initiated in 2021, Udayan Care's FiT Families Together initiative aims to develop a demonstrable and scalable model of strengthening families in India to care for their children. Through a well-researched framework of the 'Circle of Care and Protection" consisting of ten domains, families are supported such that children are not unnecessarily separated and sent to institutional care and those already separated are brought back and reintegrated with their families wherever possible. The project is currently being implemented in 5 pockets of South Delhi where majorly families who had sent away their children to institutions have been restored back.are being supported to become strong, stable and more capable of taking care of their children through linkages and access to welfare schemes, educational and vocational enrollment, physical and mental health, capacity building, and having stable livelihoods along with faith and connections in the community for extended support. Community Ambassadors and Children's Groups along with periodic Stakeholder convergence meetings are some of the key means of achieving the project goals.
